Leo Strauss, father of neoconservatism, is not the fascist thinker of left-wing caricature. But neither is he a figure with whom democrats can feel comfortable. He believed in virtue rather than liberalism

Aine MacDermot

Virtue was only important to Strauss as a means to an end. He also thought of religion in the same way, it was a way of controlling populations. If anything Strauss represents Dominionism, the ruling elite controlling all resources, politics, business, and every aspect of what most think of as "democracy"... in short, a very extreme right-wing version of the caste system.
